The Indianapolis Colts will have a Pro Bowl quarterback in 2024, thanks to fifth-year gunslinger Gardner Minshew making the 2024 exhibition after a career year with the franchise.
Minshew, 27, out of Washington State, finished the year with a career-high 3,305 yards. He threw for 15 touchdowns to nine interceptions and posted an Approximate Value (AV of 10), per Pro-Football-Reference.com, which was also a career best for the Mississippi native.
Minshew was in his first year with the Colts after playing for the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Minshew stepped up nicely when rookie quarterback Anthony Richard suffered a season-ending injury. His performance was a major reason why the Colts came within a game of making the playoffs and kept customers of Indiana sports betting interested.
While that AV figure was a record for Minshew, it represents one of the lowest year-end totals of a quarterback who qualified for the flag football exhibition, illustrating how unlikely the veteran quarterback’s inclusion on the AFC team was in 2024.
Utilizing Pro-Football-Reference.com’s AV tool, IndianaBets.com has compiled the worst quarterback to play in each Pro Bowl since 2010. Minshew ranks second worst, with an AV of 10, only behind Tyler Huntley of the Ravens in 2022.

More on Minshew, Low AV Pro Bowlers
When the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl activities kick off on Sunday from Orlando’s Camping World Stadium, Minshew officially will become the second quarterback since 2010 with an approximate value total of 11 or less to play in the contest, joining Huntley last year.
The following week is the Super Bowl, of course, and ESPN Bet Indiana has the San Francisco 49ers a slight 2-point and -128 moneyline favorite over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Other than the longtime Ravens backup, others closest in total to Minshew were Andy Dalton (twice), Matt Schaub, Nick Foles and Ryan Tannehill, who all made the roster on the heels of seasons with AV scores of 11.
The next closest QB, AV-wise, were Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2016 and Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, who had 12 AV each. Mitchell Trubisky of the Chicago Bears and Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had 13 AV each in 2018 and 2015, respectively.
